 Open Badges:

In my own personal reflection, open badges are an excellent way of demonstrating professional development in todays crazy digital era, you can collect them and evidence your learning through printable certificates, the Scottish Social Services Council themselves often issue open badges to recognise continuous and informal learning that would otherwise go unrecorded.

When you show your badge to someone, that could be your boss, your future employer, a friend, parent etc, they will be able to see the criteria needed to issue the badge and your work/evidence that you formed in order to meet the criteria for the badge.

This is an excellent way to develop your professional development, it is convenient and easy to use, the instructions to apply for the badges are clear and easy to follow, and they provide evidence for and back up what you say on your CV, job application or interview. As well as this they are a beneficial contribution towards your PRTL. You own your badges, so you won't lose them even if you have a change in careers.

In conclusion, I highly recommend collecting open badges, no matter what industry or career you may be in.

Thank You!

Welcome To The Dog In The Pond Adventure Blog!

Adventure Numero Uno: Circus Lane 🐕

Hi, Welcome to The Dog In The Pond,

In todays brief entry I'd like to introduce myself, my name is Lisa, and I'm from Edinburgh, the reason I've set up a small 'blog' is for my educational course. In this blog I will be sharing my adventures into the vast wondrous scary outside (I don't often go out!)

My first steps of adventure was taking a trip down circus lane, a beautiful little picturesque road, with quaint little houses and lush greenery, (bloody terrific in the snow) Circus Lane is one of the most popular tourist spots in Edinburgh, known to have people from all walks of life visit just for a quick picture for the 'Gram.

This hidden little treasure is just off Howe St, in the New Town area of Edinburgh, it is easily accessible and always makes for wonderful pictures.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! Tag me in your pictures!
