 Open Badges:

In my own personal reflection, open badges are an excellent way of demonstrating professional development in todays crazy digital era, you can collect them and evidence your learning through printable certificates, the Scottish Social Services Council themselves often issue open badges to recognise continuous and informal learning that would otherwise go unrecorded.

When you show your badge to someone, that could be your boss, your future employer, a friend, parent etc, they will be able to see the criteria needed to issue the badge and your work/evidence that you formed in order to meet the criteria for the badge.

This is an excellent way to develop your professional development, it is convenient and easy to use, the instructions to apply for the badges are clear and easy to follow, and they provide evidence for and back up what you say on your CV, job application or interview. As well as this they are a beneficial contribution towards your PRTL. You own your badges, so you won't lose them even if you have a change in careers.

In conclusion, I highly recommend collecting open badges, no matter what industry or career you may be in.

Thank You!
